New Pattern and a Surprise Gift

I don't usually announce every new item in my shop here on the blog. I am announcing this one because I think there were a couple of you looking forward to the duffle pattern, and it took me longer than I thought to publish it. So here is the link to the duffle PDF pattern. There is at least one more new pattern coming this month. It will be a fun, crafty, gift item with not much sewing. I may announce that one too just because it is such a different project. Hope everyone has started thinking about crafting for the Holiday Season, I sure have. Feel free to post in the comments the thing you are most excited to make as a gift this year, and I will send a fun, surprise gift to my favorite commenter. I will post a comment when I have picked someone.

  1. Cool pattern! Wish I had time to make one...LOL

For my daughter, the neuro science graduate I'm going to make a much more detailed embroidered cuff of neurons and DNA. I'm going to use some special, vintage buttons as the closure that, while old, have a resemblance to the DNA chain. Can't wait to surprise here with it.

  2. I've got several things I am working on for my favorite peeps! For my hubby, I'm making him custom Hawaiian shirts. He's 6'8" and hard to fit and loovveess Hawaiian shirts. So I have found some fabulous and unique prints to make some very cool shirts. For the charming grandson (who is a most amazing drummer), I am making custom canvas drum covers/cases. He's really been wanting some! And for the sweetest daughter in the world, I'm making a matching purse and accessories set. She loves the retro cherries print that I have! - Looks like I'd better get my ass in gear. I've got a lot of sewing to do. :o) ~ Sandie

  5. I always get pj's for my kids to wear on christmas eve. This year I've discovered designer fabrics, so I might outfit them in michael miller or amy butler. We will see how busy/lazy I am when the time comes!

  6. Hi Cherie, your bags are CUUUTE!! I'm in the process of making some collaged wall art for christmas for my father in law who is crazy about all of his 9 granchildren. So they're like mixed media photo / canvas / paint type things of their little faces :)

  8. What a cute pattern!

I can't BELIEVE Christmas is right around the corner. I have finally reconciled myself to the fact that (for the third year in a row) I will not finish the advent calendar in time for Christmas. Yes, it's the same advent calendar. *sigh*
What I AM excited about this year is quilting...and modpodge. I've already made matching treasure boxes for my daughter and my niece, using scrapbook paper and thrifted cigar boxes. I've also got plans to make quilted table runners for "every eligible maiden" (meaning, the ones with their own tables!) in the family.

    12 more weeks to go!

  9. I'm going to make another couple of blankets from felted sweaters. One (almost done) in blues, green, and black for J. One Christmas themed - maybe for my mom (depends on how it looks when I'm done!). And one with all of the girly colors and patterns left over after making blankets for the males in my family - maybe for my niece/sister-in-law.

  10. So far on the list are knitted hats and scarves. I have one hat finished and several patterns on hand ready to be made. I'll also be making 2 sets of two 12x12 size scrapbook pages with a race car theme for our cousins. They hosted my sons second birthday with the Cars and Lightning McQueen theme. We got some great pics, the cake was made into Lightning McQueen evem. Our aunt always does two of all her scrapbook pages so that each cousin has a page for their book.

  11. wow! Great ideas! I'll be knitting wrist warmers out of my handspun yarn. I'm also getting my daughter involved in the crafting spirit. We're doing that fun old craft project of taking fancy napkins down to one ply, then modge podging them onto baskets. GORGEOUS and fun. Hope to fill them with homemade cookies, but if time runs out, will head to the local bakery. :)
