Help me choose, win a prize

There are so many things I want to blog about today, but I only have time for this one. Yesterday I noticed that a lot of the choices in the baby gift guide on Etsy are actually patterns. Naturally, my question is why not my pattern? So I am changing the photos on my compact travel change pad bag pattern and hopefully landing in the gift guide where I belong. If you leave a comment on this post, telling me which of these photos you think is the most attractive for the Etsy Baby Gift Guide, you will be entered in the drawing. If you also leave a post with a real tip on how to get noticed by admin to get chosen for the gift guide, you will be entered again. The winner will choose her own prize. If the winner is outside the US, she may choose any of my PDF patterns. Inside the US, she has 4 options of finished products - 1. one of my compact travel change pad bags, which is the coolest baby shower gift ever invented, 2. this sunglass case, 3. a finished frame purse like one of these pictured in the pattern, or 4. any pattern in my shop. Thanks for your help, and good luck! Here are the 6 photos I am thinking about using. Tell me which one you think is best. Entry deadline is Noon pacific time on Wednesday, February 25th, and I will annouce the winner here on the 26th!

I vote for the item shown in the second row on the right. #1. I like action shots, #2. It makes the product look larger than the other photos, #3. It is easy to see the top corner of the product. Nice job!

I like the one with the orange one - I think the color will pop in the gift guide AND I think people instinctively "click" on photos that don't contain the entire image. You do deserve to be in the gift guide, you do!! You do!!! namaste, elsie

While they are all great photos there are two things to consider- which shows off the item best and which works best with the photos already in the gift guide.

I think the photo row 1, column 1 (The gal and the baby in the grass) work great in the gift guides and it helps people see what it is. This would be my first choice

My second choice is row 3, column 1 (the folded changing pad). It is a clean, simple photo that clearly shows the item and the colors and composition work well with the other items.

Good Luck!

Well my choice would be first the folded because of the clarity and the soft colors.

That said I thin that the first photo with mom, baby on the grass will have a much broader appeal and would be more apt to be selected.

I like the one in the second row position #2. The baby is adorable and it just catches my eye first! The folded one is also good because people will click on it to see what it is.
Good luck!

Thank you for your input so far. Maybe you can tell your friends too. Since everyone has picked something different, now I am really pulling my hair out! LOL I think I am going to need a large sampling of opinions to get anywhere. Thanks!

Top left. I love the mom & baby in the grass thing. It makes me feel like a day in the park, and hey, wouldn't this be great to have along with me! That baby is soooo happy!

Good luck!

I think I like either the folded pattern one or the orange one. Sorry I couldn't pick just one. ;-) Great idea though.

I think they all look great, but I would vote for the mom and baby on the grass, too. The zebra fabric really jumps out against the green background. What an adorable baby!

I think the second photo in the column on the right is the best photo for the gift guide. I think it looks the most commercial and fits your image best.

Thanks for the giveaway :)

I'm going to be a voice of dissent and think that I would click on the one with the baby in the funky diaper the most, bringing more traffic to your site.

Though, I do think that elsiee has a great point about partial photos.

I'd go with the orange one, would really stand out.

1st picture!

The baby on the brown is your best bet, in my opinion. I think you're more likely to be featured with a live model and I think that is the crispest of the three photos with the white background. My eyes jumped right to it.

As far as getting seen by admin, that's tougher. I would look at if items selected have similar tags or if there is a color/fabric trend that they are focusing on. Good luck!

I'd go with the orange one - the color really does stand out, as there just aren't that many orange baby gifts out there!

Okay, so far the top three are the ones with baby or toddler on the pad. Brainstorm! I just listed them each separately in the shop as well, so maybe that can help me see which gets hearts or sells more. I think I have tripled my chances by using them all, right?

I am having a hard time deciding between the top left one (I like the colors and the mom-baby interaction) and the second one in the middle row (I think it showcases the wipes holder and the size nicely). I do think it is important to choose a picture where the wipes holder is easy to see because, in my opinion, that's the most unique and helpful feature. Good luck!

My favorite is the top one on the left. I like the color combo and it shows the product being used.

Either top left or bottom right. the people in the picture catch your eye and it's easier to determine what the product is at a glance with the people for clues. also people LIKE faces, especially baby ones, and are drawn to them.

I definitely think the orange photo is the most eye-catching!

1. It's a bright color that isn't seen/featured as much on etsy probably because of the lack of many orange items. If someone was to do an 'orange' colored treasury/front page (since everyone loves color theamed pages) I'm sure this would be perfect!

2. It clearly shows what the item is - in some of the other photos you can't see the product quite as well.

3. The baby is adorable! Everyone loves a pretty baby :)

I think number one is the most I like because the scene is funny, the item looks beautiful and people can quickly see what is it.

thanks for the chance!

I just saw the baby on brown go across the front page. I was looking at the scrolling Storque stories and it caught my eye enough to make me look up...which I thought was cool. :)

I vote for the baby on the brown blanket - but I'd prefer it in a different color, like the orange or blue. It shows what the product really is, the sizing, and a happy baby :) I like the folded up one too, but it will get confused with a tote bag, and the orange one is cute but just looks like a picnic blanket.

Good luck!

I like the photo in the second row on the right. I like that you can see the whole product and that it has a baby on it to show scale. Plus I think the blue color is appealing.

Ok, I think my first choice would be the very first pic (top row, left side) or the very bottom pic (bottom row on the left side). They are all awesome pics and any one of them should get you in the etsy gift guide!!

My favorite is the one on the top right. I love the color!

They are all great pictures, Cherie but my favorites are the top left with the zebra print and the right middle photo. Good luck.

They all have their own appeal, but I do like the one with the mom and baby in the grass, it has just that little extra attention grab for me.

The one with the white background would be my second choice, it's how I display 99% of my own items on etsy, I think it helps them "pop" a little nicer.

I vote for the top right picture and the 2nd row left picture. I like these the best because it's showing just the product and not advertising with a baby (if that makes sense!) :O) They're all fantastic pictures though!

The best advice I can give you to getting noticed by admin is to list often with your best item pictures as the first picture you see. Make them interesting, unique, and stand out against the rest!
I was featured at the beginning of the month quite a few times because I was listing items every day. Featured on the front page 3 times in one week, and held a spot in the gift guide for a week! :O)
